Who doesn’t use mobile apps for everything? Not many. Even a big number of grandfathers and grandmothers use them and mobile phones didn’t exist back in the days. Now it’s very rare to find someone who does not possess a smartphone and does not use apps for something. That’s why app developers created different kind of fitness and nutrition apps. But I want to share with you only 7 of these that I liked a lot and you can find them both on android phones and iPhones.

Jefit
One of the most famous fitness apps. The reason being for that is that they have more than 1300 exercises with details and animation. They provide workout routines to motivate you and help you reach your goals. Moreover you can track your progress and have your results saved on an account. There is also a community where you can compete with friends or discuss with people if you have any nutrition or workout questions.

Fitocracy
Another app like Jefit. However this one is more personal. It’s like having your own personal coach. They take you through a fitness assessment and your coach tells you what to do, what to eat and more. But all these come with paying 1 dollar per day. Still you get workouts, tracking your progress, support, motivation and articles or tips with the free version though.

Runtastic Pro
There are people who don’t like working out at the gym. They only like walking and/or running. Here is where runtastic comes in. It connects with GPS, showing you a map. It also tracks where you are going and different statistics like distance covered and calories burned. They have a collection of hardware to collect your stats while running. It saves all your stats and social sharing is also available.

Pact
Everyone likes to get paid. Now you get to make money from working out and/or eating healthy. Yes, I’m serious. You create an account and you commit to live healthy. You choose how many meals you are going to eat, how many veggies or fruits and how many times you are going to work out. If you don’t do these then you have to pay the amount you chose and if you do then you get paid by others who didn’t reach their weekly goals. Pretty simple right. The more you exercise or eat healthier the more money you will get. By the way don’t even think about cheating because you have to post photos of you doing the things you say that you do and if others in the community say that they think you are legit on what you are doing then you get your rewards.

MyFitnessPal
Basically is your food journal. It tells you what the food or the snack you are eating has. I’m sure you can find it in their database because they have more than 5 million foods and every day they add more. It can also calculate how many calories you have burned with different exercises. In the end you know exactly the calories and much more that you receive or remove from your body. Therefore you know if you really lose weight. Some people even claim that they had some serious weight losses.

Fooducate
Another great app that has to do with food, but it’s a little bit different. With this one you scan the product’s barcode with your mobile phone and automatically it tells you the calories per serving and everything in it from sugars to proteins and more. Also it has a scale that rates from A to D the products according to their nutrients and ingredients. Of course the natural foods have better grades than the processed ones. Like the others apps above it has the features of tracking your progress and discussing with others if you have any questions too.

Pocket Yoga
Last but not least is a Yoga app. Every day more and more people become yoga practitioners and not only women. Maybe you are somewhere outside your house and not in a yoga class but you want to exercise for a while and you forgot some poses. Now there you have it. Wherever that place is, you take out your mobile phone and browse. The best part about this app is that tells you the difficulty of each exercise, how to do it and what the benefits of it are. Probably will give you a great workout because it has more than 200 poses.
Android: €2.18
Apple: €2.99

So for all the fitness and nutrition fanatics, check these apps and I’m sure you are going to love them. There are plenty more out there but I wanted to give you my favourite ones. If you check them, you will see that they all have very good rankings, testimonials and even been recommended in big shows or blogs. That’s why they worth the try.
